«Mon métier consiste à regarder en espérant voir», afirma o fotógrafo siciliano Ferdinando Scianna, que este ano celebra 40 anos de carreira.
Nascido em 1943, em Bagheria, não muito longe de Palermo, Ferdinando estudou literatura e filosofia antes de se dedicar de corpo e alma ao seu ofício.
Uma importante retrospectiva da sua obra pode ser vista actualmente na Maison Européenne de la Photographie em Paris.
